T-Bone

The comedian Patrice O’Neal just passed away. True I’m sad with just about anyone dies, especially those well before their time, but not being familiar with his work and really only his face, the little bit of sadness is a little bit odd to me.

Out of all the wonderful lines from Arrested Development, one of my favorite television series, O’Neal’s delivery of “Oh most definitely” is one of my all time favorite things to hear. And I don’t think I’m alone in this. Maybe it’s weird to remember someone for 6 syllables they said as an extra cast member, or maybe what people are or can do can come through in small spaces. Sometimes it is the tiny things. I doubt a week passes without me using that sentence in conversation. I love that sentence, Truly I do. And I do all because of how Mr O’Neal says it. Six syllables but I think there is genius in how they were given. Rest in Peace.
